Holla! Sometimes you just don't wake up with a natural Snow White-esque rosy flush to your cheeks, so you're left with no choice but to fake it with the wonders of make up. I've noticed that there are 4 very different blushes that I continuously reach for and decided to review them for you here in no particular order (swatches at the end)!
1) Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour (Shade: Rose Bloom)
This is the first blush that I owned, gifted by my lovely mother when I first started getting more into makeup. This is one of those shades that is named very accurately, because it comes off as a very natural dusty rose flush on the cheeks. The texture is smooth, it's quite decently pigmented and lasts about 7 or 8 hours; I wear this usually as a wearable every day blush and definitely recommend this for those who want to just buy one blush to match all makeup looks. It's also the most compact out of the 4 blushes at 3.6g (0.13oz), so it's a good one to travel with.
2) Illamasqua Powder Blusher (Shade: Excite)
This one can be quite intimidating when first seen in the pan, and Illamasqua is known for its highly pigmented products, so unless you're going for a costume look, you need to use a very light hand with this blush. The colour is very build-able, very long-lasting and goes fantastic with more peach toned eye looks or to bring out an orange accent in an outfit. I reach for this surprisingly often in autumn (or fall for you U.S. pretties out there) or when I have a really minimal eye look. Also, because there's so much product (4.5g) and you only need to lightly touch your brush to the pan for each application, this will last you forever.
3) Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush (Shade: 65 Espiegle)
This is an excellent every day blush. I got this after I heard Rae from The Raeviewer say that if she could only use one blush for the rest of her life, it would be this one. My first impression of this blush (which you might recall from my previous post here) wasn't great, so I neglected it for a while, but I decided to give it another chance and I'm glad I did! This has 4g (0.14oz) of product; I've been using it consistently for the better half of a year now and it's hardly even dented, so this will last you forever. On that note, it also lasts forever on your face - it's lasted on me right through 12 hours. Unfortunately, the brush that it comes with isn't great, but I love love love the actual blush though.
4) BH Cosmetics 10 Color Palette (Shade: Lilac)
Straight up, I don't like BH Cosmetics. I know everyone raves about it and it's cheap, but the quality of their packaging is appalling even for the price. I'll do a full review on BH Cosmetics in another post. One thing that bugs me about this palette is that the shades don't seem to have individual names, so I'm not sure if these are available for individual sale. The only shade I like out of this palette is the lilac blush, which gives off a really nice girly flush and lasts a decent amount of time through the day. Also, each blush is a decent size in this palette. I recommend buying this shade on its own if you can find it, but I don't recommend this palette at all because the packaging is flimsy as hell and one blush had already fallen out of the palette when I first received it (same deal with the eyeshadow palettes, from which about 6 eyeshadows had already fallen out upon arrival).
