STYLE • DISTRESSED BOYFRIEND JEANS

Boyfriend jeans are everywhere lately, particularly those distressed to the point of cutouts. Distressed as they are, this pair of jeans is one of the most controversial items in my closet - people either love them or hate them, but regardless, I've styled them in 3 different outfits to show you guys.

Outfit #1
This is an outfit I would wear for a night out of drinks with girlfriends or events of similar nature. I find that the fluffy cardigan dresses the jeans up and adds a slightly more glamorous look to the outfit. I particularly like to juxtapose the jeans' relaxed, casual style with the more dressy, chic style of pointed heels.

Outfit #2
This getup is one I would sport almost anywhere, from a dinner date to a mall hangout to a coffee shop. Similar to the first outfit, I've contrasted the torn denim against something more polished and refined - in this case, the clean and simple lines of the coat. Since there's quite a bit of look going on, I swapped the pointed heels out for a chunky ankle boot to compliment the rather chunky aspects throughout the entire outfit.

Outfit #3
This is the most casual of the 3 outfits shown and is one that I would wear just to run some errands or to other laid back settings. Since the sweater and jeans are both quite oversized basics, I decided to still keep the lines of the outfit interesting by tucking one side of the sweater in to create an asymmetrical hemline.
