WINTER FAVOURITES '14

Good morning, world (or afternoon, or evening, wherever you are)! Since I haven't tried too many products that I loved in the last few months, I decided to show the few items I do like in a collective Winter favourites video instead of monthly favourites.

Sheer Design Mineral Foundation (shade: Light)
My skin has been going through a bit of a rough patch (ha ha ha...) recently, and whenever my face is the home of a new breakout or something unwelcome, I tend to reach for mineral foundation if any foundation at all. Mineral foundation has more natural ingredients and generally clogs up your pores much less than regular foundations would, so I can achieve some coverage but still let my skin breathe a little. This mineral foundation has done wonders for that and looks ridiculously natural on the skin, so much so that I've been the recipient of many a compliment on my foundation and my skin this Winter (yassss).

As I mention in the video, the only negative thing about this foundation is the possibly messy loose powder form and that the packaging may be a little too bulky, pushing this product out of mind when it comes to travel.

Sigma F50 Duo Fibre Brush
This brush works hand in hand with the Sheer Design Mineral Foundation for super light coverage and easy blending. I find that this brush also works perfectly with the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation (which I reviewed here in my Top 3 Liquid Foundations), making it look much more natural and far less cakey than if I used the Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki brush.

L'Oreal False Lash Architect 4 Dimension Effect Fibers Mascara
This mascara is smudge-proof and waterproof like no other, WHILE holding my lash curl all day and adding darkness and length. I also love the pretty blue packaging. As I mention in the video, the only downside to this product is that the wand is slightly too big for my eye, making it harder to get into the corner lashes, but this isn't a big problem and it's actually a thinner wand than the L'Oreal False Lash Wings Mascara (which I reviewed here in my previous favourites).

However, if you guys know of an alternative mascara that is equally good, please let me know, since L'Oreal tests on animals and I'd prefer to stop supporting this brand and give another mascara a try!
